This week we'll be featuring the wonderful properties of Camellia Oil aka Green Tea Seed Oil- (Camellia sinensis). This oil has been used by the women in China and Japan for many centuries as a skin tonic to prevent premature age related wrinkles as well as a hair tonic revitalizing hair growth. It has been known to help restructure the skin and strengthen nails. Camellia oil contains the Vitamins A, B and E as well as various minerals such as Phosphorus, Calcium, Iron, Manganese and Magnesium. With these vitamins and minerals, it has been known to help maintain the nature of the skin and aid in the prevention of skin disorders such as wrinkles, spots freckles and acne.
We use Green Tea Seed Oil in our Shampoo bars as it has also been known to leave the hair soft and shiny.
We also use it in our Evening Rayne Shea Butter for its anti-wrinkle properties.
As you can see, Green Tea Seed Oil has many uses and is fantastic for the skin and hair as well as cooking properties! This is one of our favorite oils at After The Rayne!

Featured Oil of the Week - Evening Primrose
Starting this week, I would like to feature one of the fantabulous oils that we use in our products. Every Sunday, I will feature a new and exciting oil!
This week, I wanted to start with one that is quite lovely and wonderful for the skin and body.

Evening Primrose has also been known to help with atopic eczema, acne, psoriasis and other skin conditions. When used as a topical application on the skin, Evening Primrose has moisturizing and softening effects.
Evening Primrose may be considered as an important botanical in combatting the general effects of aging. The body loses its ability to convert dietary fats into GLA with age, thus Evening Primrose oil may be helpful in age-related conditions resulting from GLA deficiency.
We make no medical claims in any of our products, although we use Evening Primrose in some of our Handmade Soaps and in our Bath Products such as Evening Rayne Shea Butter
This is but one of the many luxury oils that we use in our products and we look forward to informing all of our wonderful readers about the rest of the oils that we use!
Caution: Evening Primrose oil may worsen symptoms of temporal lobe epilepsy. It should also be avoided by schizophrenics who are prescribed phenothiazine epileptogenic drugs.

For Couples Only!
Ooooh, did I get your attention? Well, don't worry. What I have to say isn't just for couples! But, it is one of the names of our new massage oil! Now, introducing our new Aromatic Rayne Massage Oils!!
Each one is a special blend of essential oils in a carrier oil of Sweet Almond oil and Jojoba Oil. Sweet Almond Oil is very soothing on the skin and Jojoba Oil is actually a wax that is closely related to our body's own sebum. It is used to soften the skin and is known to help reduce wrinkles and stretch marks.
The blends we currently have are:
For Couples Only - It doesn't have to be just for Valentine's Day! Every day can be special for the two of you! Enjoy the sensual scents of Palmarosa, Mandarin, Lemon and Ylang Ylang for some together time. Light some candles, put on some music and enjoy this blend made for you.
Mommy to Be - Here are a few blends to help during pregnancy.
Lift Your Spirit - When being pregnant has got your down. Not in the depression sort of way, but you just feel "weighted". Try this blend of Lavender, Roman Chamomile and Rose Geranium to massage on your back and your legs.
I'm Exhausted - A great blend especially if this is not your first pregancy and you have other little ones underfoot! You need a break! Have your special someone massage this blend of Lavender, Grapefruit and Coriander to make everything all better!
Need A Lift? - You've gone through nine months of carrying your precious bundle of joy and gone through the birthing process. Through it all, it has taken a toll on your body. Try our massage oil to help bring a sense of normalcy back into your life with a little Lemon, Nutmeg, Rose Geranium, Rosewood, and Frankincense you should be good to go in no time!
Bye Bye Blues - Because of hormonal changes after pregnancy, the blues may set in. To help combat that we have come up with a synergistic blend to help you during those days after you have given birth with the essential oils of Grapefruit, Geranium and Mandarin.. Take time for yourself. Always try to seek professional help if you feel you need it.
The Color Purple - For the woman who's going through that "change of life" period. Don't worry, it doesn't have to be all that bad! As a matter of fact, there's a lot of positives to it! No more PMS! You don't have to worry about birth control! And, can we talk about the sex drive?!! Now, there are some little negatives, but we have some massage oils that may be able to help with that too.
Flashy - For those occasional hot flashes, massage our unique blend of Geranium, Clary Sage, Lemon and Sage all of your body whenever you desire and let the aromatic blend help cool you down.
No Sweat! - If you happen to be one that breaks out in the occasional sweats, try this blend of Lime, Grapefruit, Thyme and Sage and massage all over whenever you feel the need.

Weathering the Storm!
Ahhhh, my dear readers. It has been quite awhile! Trying to keep up in the blog world is amazing! This past week, I have been feeling a little under the weather and it really is a rarity in our household, but when it occurs, I pull out my Rayney Days Weather the Storm Sick Room Spray! It really helps to keep whatever has you down from keeping you down long! Made with essential oils and Oregano Hydrosol to help boost the immune system it will kick some booty!!
Whatever I had just stayed in my nose and only stayed for a couple of days! Some other people I've been talking to have had their colds stay with them for weeks and they are also taking all that other over the counter medicine too!
Oregano is known to have strong antibacterial properties and is very high in carvacrol. Oregano is antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic. Add to this our blend of essential oils of Eucalyptus Essential Oil, Organic Lemon Tea Tree Essential Oil, Lavender Essential Oil and Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil and you have a very potent antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal blend of essential oils to help with any colds that you may have! Not only that, it smells great too! Even when your cold has gone away, you'll just want to spritz this as a "pick me up " spray! It's that good!

Spray over your head and inhale the blend two to three times a day or as much as needed. I also suggest to spritz on your pillow at bedtime so the aromatic blend can go to work while you sleep.
Also during this time, be sure to stay hydrated with Orange Juice and liquids. Personally, I also take Vitamin C, Echinacea and Golden Seal, but I do not offer any medical advice and please seek professional advice should you need it.
